Qawwali, as truly said and believed, is the musical path to spiritual ecstasy. It is a recognized musical genre only in India and Pakistan, despite the fact that Islam has a following all over the world. Musicologists attribute this to the fact that perhaps it was only in the sub-continent that music played such an essential part in religion. |
